Continuous Development

At Mobile Mini we believe that our people are our greatest asset and we encourage everyone to develop their skills, to take on new responsibilities and to become the best at what they do.

Every employee matters to us and we believe that we can only grow and succeed as a company by developing, motivating and recognising our employees. We therefore support ongoing personal development by investing in excellent training and offering great career development opportunities.

We always endeavour to promote from within whenever possible and we encourage our employees to develop their roles into a career with Mobile Mini.

Training & Development

All of our employees have regular appraisals and development discussions and these help to identify additional training requirements to ensure that our teams have the best skills for their roles. This will include Health and Safety training and also soft skills and technical skills, dependant on the individual role.

At Mobile Mini, we recognise that investing in our leaders is a key part of our success. We therefore have ongoing leadership development programmes to ensure that our leaders and potential leaders have the required skills to get the best of their people. Our principles of leadership include empowerment, trust and open communication and these principles support our teams who work together to be the best and to provide excellent service to our customers.

We are proud of the formal Apprenticeship programmes which we offer and these include programmes in Business Administration at our Corporate Head Office, in association with ITEC NE and also Yard Operative Apprentice programmes nationwide. On successful completion of these, the apprentices achieve either a NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or a NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Innovative/Modern Methods of Construction – Modular/Portable Buildings.

Mobile Mini UK was the first company within the portable accommodation industry to offer the Yard Operative apprenticeship scheme. As part of this programme, the trainees learn basic, medium and advanced skills in plumbing, welding, painting and electrics. Other specialist training includes Health and Safety training/ First aid training/ CSCS Card/ Method and Risk Assessments. Training is delivered both internally and by external providers and assessment takes place by our internal qualified assessors.

Apprentices all have a dedicated Mentor and Apprenticeship team to help guide and support them in their training and future careers and the programmes help Mobile Mini to develop our talent for the future and to achieve our goal of promoting from within wherever possible.
