Phil Barnes has been with the company for over 15 years and in that time has held various positions, having witnessed the company go through many changes and expand rapidly. Originally starting out as UK Sales Manager for Box Lease (a company later renamed to Royal Wolf UK) in 1999, four years later he became Director of Sales & Marketing.
When Royal Wolf was acquired by Mobile Mini in 2006, the company expanded further, investing heavily in all locations and as things progressed Phil took on the role of Regional Director, responsible for depots in the southern parts of the UK including South Ockendon, Gravesend, Aylesbury, Southampton, Manningtree, Birmingham, Bridgend and Bristol.
As Regional Director, it is Phil’s role to manage and oversee a safe and financially successful region, supporting and motivating a results-driven team to strive for operational excellence and a superior service. His main priorities are to continue the success of the Southern region, maintaining the strong safety culture that is in place and building on the continuing financial success experienced year on year, ensuring that his team are celebrated for their successes.
Phil brings over 30 years’ experience of working within the container and accommodation industry to the role, having spent the first 11 years of his career working in various roles within the shipping container industry. These roles have seen him travel worldwide across the industry and has given him in-depth knowledge of fleet maintenance, repair and sales, as well as vast experience of fleet management, controlling costs, quality, rate negotiation and customer service.
