Aylesbury depot expansion helps fuel record growth at Mobile Mini

Mobile Mini, a leading hirer of portable accommodation and secure storage containers, with its Buckinghamshire depot based in Aylesbury, has reported record results for its UK operations after heavily investing in its UK work force and rental fleet. Annual income hit £57.6m for 2015, a 9.5% increase on 2014.

As part of Mobile Mini’s 2015 growth strategy, the company invested in the Aylesbury depot, expanding its workforce to become a true standalone branch on 1st January 2016, creating an additional five jobs within a new dedicated internal and external sales team.

Newly appointed Aylesbury Branch Manager, Jonathan Tyrrell, commented “It’s been another successful year for Mobile Mini here in the UK, with investments in our people, products and equipment continuing to drive growth.

“This is a great opportunity for the Aylesbury depot to grow to its full potential, helping us take full advantage of the strong economy in the South East. We are already the company’s 6th largest branch within the UK.”

UK wide, the company invested £14m in its growing its fleet of rental units, adding almost 3,000 steel storage containers, portable offices, canteens and toilets. The fleet now stands at more than 35,000, operated across sixteen UK depots stretching from Glasgow to Southampton.

£2.5m was also invested in new fuel-efficient delivery trucks giving the company one of the biggest HGV fleets of its kind in the UK.

2016 is likely to see further investment in Mobile Mini with further additions to the product range and rental fleet. £3.7m will be invested in a further eight new crane arm loader lorries, taking the total number of delivery trucks to 50.  An expanding fleet of delivery vehicles will give Mobile Mini more flexibility in meeting its customers’ needs.
