Eon

The Project

For the past few years, staff at energy supplier EON’s Nottingham sites have supported a Christmas gift campaign for local children.

Every Christmas, Nottingham City Council runs It’s for the Kids – Santa’s Little Helpers campaign, sharing presents donated by local businesses to the thousands of children in care across the city.

The staff at EON Nottingham found that, as more and more members of staff wanted to get involved, they were running out of space – and that’s where the Mobile Mini elves came in!

The Solution

As part of our Community Involvement Programme, which supports non-profit or voluntary organisations, we donate containers for charities to use free of charge.

As Karen Chamberlain, EON’s charity organiser, explains: “We started to really struggle for cupboard space to store all the gifts, as year after year more and more staff want to buy gifts for the kids, so I got in touch with Mobile Mini again – we also used the containers in 2017 and 2018.

“The team were so friendly staff when I called to discuss my requirements, and then they kindly offered to provide the storage for free, which is amazing.”

We provided EON with one 20ft unit, which was sited in the car park for around eight weeks, to keep the donations safe before they were handed out to children.

Karen added: “Myself, EON staff and Nottingham council are so grateful to the Mobile Mini team; having the unit means we can accept more and more gifts for the children each year.

“It’s absolutely fantastic and has made life so much easier, having somewhere secure and dry to store the gifts. It also makes it so much easier for the council to collect the gifts as well — staff can just drive to the unit and load up their cars.

“I would absolutely recommend Mobile Mini to anyone; their service is excellent and the staff are so helpful and friendly – nothing seems too much trouble.”
