Kepier Academy

The Project

Kepier Academy in Houghton le Spring is a co-educational secondary school that was founded in 1574.

Due to bad weather in late summer of 2019, the school suffered flooding and damage to the sports block and music classrooms.

This left the school with a large amount of equipment but nowhere to store it. The school needed somewhere safe and secure – and most importantly, out of the elements – to house the valuable assets.

That’s where we came in.

The Solution

We received an enquiry the morning after a severe storm in the north east wreaked havoc across the region and caused two vital areas of the school to be rendered unsuitable for use – and for storage.

Felicity Cowie, Finance Manager at Kepier Academy was tasked with finding alternative storage for the equipment in the affected areas of the school.

Understanding how this can have a major impact on the running of the academy, we worked quickly to make sure we got units to them as quickly as possible.

Felicity said: “Mobile Mini was the first company I found online and after one phone call, explaining the situation, they made recommendations and said they could get the two 20ft units to us the very next day.

“The whole process was quick and easy – they totally understood our situation and urgency, but the excellent customer service never stopped from the first call to the driver leaving site.

“Delivery was hassle-free and didn’t disrupt the operation of the school or the students’ day. As soon as the units were in place, we could safely and securely store all our equipment – one less thing to worry about while we started to deal with the damage.”
