Who are we looking for?

As one of our drivers, you will be the face of Mobile Mini to many of our customers. Based at one of our 15 branch locations, you will be responsible for the safe and timely deliveries of our storage or accommodation units. This role is great for someone who is safety conscious and has the ability to work both in a team and on your own, with customer service at the forefront of everything you do.

Our HGV drivers are responsible for delivering our assets to our valued customers, sometimes in hard to find places, so any applicant must be safety conscious.

Our drivers are often the first face of the company so you must have excellent customer service skills when engaging with our customers.

Application Process

The recruitment process for Mobile Mini is designed to get the best from our applicants so that they can really show off their skills and attributes during their interview. It’s our employees that make Mobile Mini the company that it is.

Stage 1

Application stage

Once you’ve completed your online application it will be reviewed by our internal recruiter who will be seeing whether you match the criteria for the role.

Stage 2

First interview

Successful candidates will be asked to attend an interview to discuss their suitability for the roles.

Stage 3

Final interview

Candidates who stand out in the first interview will be asked to return for a final interview. There will usually be an assessment of your skills on the day (you will be given preparation in advance).

Stage 4

Job offer

The successful candidate/s will be notified of their job offer and they can get ready to join the Mobile Mini team.

Your First Steps at Mobile Mini

Week 1
Introduction to your team

Congratulations, you’ve passed your interview and you are now a driver for Mobile Mini. In your first couple of days you will be introduced to your branch team.

Weeks 2-3 – Training and familiarisation

Once you have been introduced to your branch and are familiar with everyone’s role, you will start our HGV training programme. During weeks two and three you will cover; ALLMI Lorry Loader training, ALLMI Slinger/Signaller training, Working at Heights training, driver handbook induction, driving hours and tacho reporting, vehicle defect checking, Mini Moves system training, lift operations induction, FASSI crane familiarisation, site hazard assessments, risk assessments and method statements, site installation and stacking and linking.

Week 4 – Final Sign off

It’s been a tough couple of weeks, but you’ve completed all your necessary training and you are ready to hit the road as a Mobile Mini driver. Good luck!

Week 5+ - Ongoing help

Don’t worry we don’t just pack you up and send you on your way, we give all of our drivers ongoing support on the job such as driver colleague mentoring, CPC training, FORS Safe Urban Driving training, FORS LoCity training and FORS e-learning.

Driver Development Programme

At Mobile Mini, we pride ourselves on our employee development programmes and our Driver Development Programme is an excellent example of how we upskill our workforce at Mobile Mini. Our Driver Development Programme is a 12-month course that we offer to all our employees to become a fully-fledged HGV driver.

Launched to combat the national shortage of HGV drivers, we fund all the training, theory and practical tests to put one of our team through the development programme.

Our Driver Development Programme consists of:

- Complete medical test, apply for provisional HGV licence and tachograph card
- Theory and Hazard Perception test
- Initial CPC case studies test
- Initial CPC practical demonstration exercise
- 4-day Category C (Class 2) training and test
- 5-day Category C+E (Class 1) training and test

Pension scheme

All employees are encouraged to join and to contribute to the company

their length of service, are able to have in total up to 38 days of annual leave per year, including bank holidays.

Discounted Gym Membership

A discounted membership fee, with no additional joining fee, has been
negotiated with Trugym for employees of Mobile Mini. Trugym have over 15
state of the art gymnasiums across the UK and fees vary from location to location.

Free Eye Tests

Mobile Mini will reimburse the cost of an eye test for all employees. If an employee is required to have a new prescription due to VDU use, Mobile
Mini will contribute towards the cost of a pair of spectacles.

Free Flu Jabs

Mobile Mini will reimburse the cost of the flu jab for all employees. Flu jabs are available at most leading pharmacies and supermarkets and costs will be reimbursed.

Cycle to Work Scheme

Mobile Mini employees can hire a bike and then pay off the full cost
through the payroll over a 12 month period. Paying for a bike through the
payroll means that you pay a lower amount of tax and NI as well as saving
up to 42% on your chosen bike and/or equipment.

Smoking Cessation Programme

Mobile Mini will reimburse you for the cost of up to seven prescriptions to help you give up smoking. This is the standard number of prescriptions recommended by the NHS for their 12 week Stop Smoking Programme.

Mindful Employers

Mobile Mini adopt a positive and supportive approach to the mental health and wellbeing of our employees. As part of our commitment we have a number of Company Mental Health First Aiders who offer support or advice to all of our employees.

Refer a Friend Bonus

We know that some of our strongest candidates are those who are recommended to us by our employees. If a member of staff recommends a candidate and they are successful following the recruitment process, we reward our employee with £500 for a sales role and £1000 for a HGV driver role as a thank you.

Each month, we recognise and reward an employee who has gone the extra mile to deliver excellent
