We’re in it for the long haul as we gear up for National Lorry Week
We’ve put our pedal to the floor here at Mobile Mini, as we get ready to celebrate National Lorry Week.
The idea behind this year’s annual event, held between the 19th – 24th September, is to encourage the UK to ‘Love the Lorry’ and inspire ‘The Next Generation’ to consider becoming a lorry driver.
You may not be aware, but Mobile Mini has the largest fleet of lorry mounted loader cranes vehicles within our industry and our fleet is set to expand. However, more lorries require more drivers, so we have developed an in-house initiative called the Driver Development Training Programme, which provides our employees with the opportunity to retrain as a HGV Driver.
As members of the Road Haulage Association, we’re ‘wheely’ excited to be getting involved in National Lorry Week and have a whole host of activities planned throughout it.
On Monday, 19th September, along with PD Ports, we’ll be hosting our first event for the week at the Inspire2Learn, Eston Civic and Learning Centre in Middlesbrough. We will be talking to local school children about what we do and then getting them to complete various skills tests to see if they’ve got what it takes to be a lorry driver.
On Wednesday 21st September, we will be doing live interviews with two of the drivers from our Wakefield Branch, before hitting the road in one of our trucks to see what the life of a lorry driver involves.
Throughout the week, we’re also giving you the chance to win a £50 Amazon voucher. All you have to do is tell us what you think the best song is to truck along to and why. Tweet your answers to @MobileMiniUK using #Songstotruckto or post on our Facebook page, for your chance to win.
We can’t wait for National Lorry Week and hope you’ll also support the campaign with us.
