Green credentials can’t be contained
A leading hirer of secure storage containers and portable site accommodation has improved its green credentials through efficient recycling methods.
Mobile Mini, which has its head office in Stockton and 15 branches nationwide, recycled or recovered 96.3 per cent of its waste in 2018 following a commitment to be more environmentally conscious.
Hayley Hedley, procurement manager at Mobile Mini, said: “Each year we produce around 1,250 tonnes of waste which includes steel, timber, cardboard and general rubbish. In 2018, 1,205 tonnes were recycled or recovered which is a figure we’re very proud of.
“As an industry leader we take seriously our responsibility to minimise the impact on the environment and waste disposal is just one part of this. Across the business, efforts are continuously made to reduce our carbon footprint and reduce waste throughout our supply chain.”
Mobile Mini’s Managing Director said: “As a business we know that there is always room for improvement when it comes to being environmentally-friendly, however the steps we have so far taken to build a culture of recycling throughout the company has significantly reduced the impact we have on the environment.
“We are committed to further reducing the amount of waste we send to landfill in the coming years, with an ultimate goal of recycling 100% of our waste.”
