Meet Tim Sigsworth, a 17 year-old A-level student and recently appointed Career Ready summer intern at Mobile Mini.
Over the course of the next 6 weeks, Tim will be working within our Finance department, giving him an insight into a career in finance, a field of work of which he has been considering pursuing.
The arrangement was managed through Career Ready, a UK-wide national charity which links employers with schools and colleges, to open up the world of work to young people. This makes Tim our 2nd student to undertake a summer internship with us.
Tim is currently studying Business Studies, English Literature and History at Prior Pursglove College but wanted the opportunity to gain some real work experience. This is one of the main reasons why he was keen for an internship, as he felt that it would give him a feel for working within in office and experience of a corporate environment.
On joining the Mobile Mini team, Tim said: “I’m so pleased to have been given the opportunity to work for Mobile Mini. It will help me to develop my skills and give me an insight into working within a Head Office of a global company.
“Right from the start, everyone has been so friendly and encouraging, I was even surprised with a birthday cake from my colleagues within my first few days and already feel like a valued member of the team.”
During his time with the Finance team, Tim will develop a hands-on understanding of business operations, including learning how to use our IT systems, processing invoices, bank reconciliations, as well as build his wider employability skills such as confidence and team work.
After his summer placement at Mobile Mini, and his final year of college next year, Tim hopes to study at either Durham or Sunderland University and believes that his 6-week internship will only help to strengthen his application.
Good luck, Tim, we’re delighted to have you on board!
