Year in the life of the North Pole

For 364 days of the year, we go about our business. But for one very special day of the year, everything stops for one very special set of deliveries. In the North Pole, those 364 days are packed with activity – let’s take a look at how Mobile Mini is supporting Santa, his elves and the reindeer.

December

Once The Big Day is over, it’s back to the North Pole for Santa, his elves, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Donner, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Blitzen and Rudolph.

It’s been a long journey, almost 41,000km, battling all weathers, so the first thing Mrs Claus insists on everyone doing is hanging up their wet clothes in a specially fitted drying room.

After the uniforms are tucked away in lockers and the generator switched off, it’s time to get some well-earned rest, ready to start it all again in January.

January

There’s no time to spare in the North Pole! January is the time for repairs so the sleigh heads to the specially converted container workshop for vital maintenance.

The workshop has everything an elf needs to get the vehicle in tip-top shape, from specialist lighting, high security lock boxes, shelving, racking and ventilation.

And once the sleigh is ready? It’s stored away in a secure, weatherproof container with all the reins, buckles and bridles, so it’s ready to take flight again next Christmas Eve.

February

The elves get to work creating toys for all the good girls and boys. But with an ever-increasing population, each year they need more and more space!

So we provide a variety of storage solutions for them to keep the toys safe until Christmas Eve.

Our containers are so versatile, did you know you could fit…31 bikes, 3,700 footballs, 8,500 Barbie Dolls or 19 small two-person hot tubs into one of our 20ft containers!

September

They say behind every great man is a great woman, and that’s certainly true of the Claus’s!

Mrs Claus is always busy behind the scenes, but her year really picks up when the letters to Santa begin to arrive from children all over the world. With a triple stacked and linked office complex for her team, Mrs Claus has plenty of space to sort the letters into naughty and nice.

November

It’s getting close to Christmas! There’s still so much to do, so elves from all over are coming to the North Pole to help out.

With so many more people, more and more facilities are needed! We deliver welfare facilities, showers and canteens to give everyone on site somewhere to rest and freshen up.

Luckily, we can double and triple stack on units that are already on site, to create as many offices and meetings rooms as they need.

With our fast turnaround service, we’re able to get more storage units on site with just 48 hours’ notice, meaning no child will go without a present for lack of somewhere to store it.

December

The final touches are done for Christmas Eve, everything is ready.

While the sleigh is loaded, the reindeer are fed and the elves are preparing for the big night, Mobile Mini is working hard to take the surplus storage and site accommodation away, leaving no trace.

So, as Santa exclaims as he drives out of sight, Happy Christmas to all and to all a good site!
